The research question is
-
How medication e
ors impact adversely on the patients in ICU
?
(
This
is a qualitative study, hence, PICo is considered here rather than considering PICO.)
) (
Research background
It is an obvious fact that safe medications help a critically injured or severely ill patient to be recovered
effectively. As per the thoughts of
Poudel
et al
., (2017),
application of proper medication helps an individual to enhance his or her mental strength regarding life expectancy. At present, medication e
or has become one of the critical issues in managing nursing and midwifery practices.
It is not only impacting on people’s life expectancy but also it is hampering their mental strength also.
It has been recorded that about 16% of global death occur due to medication e
ors.
In this regard, this research project is going to evaluate the aspects of medication e
ors in nursing and midwifery practices.
In the views of
Tran
et al
., (2017),
medication e
ors
greatly
degrade quality of life of patients. Thus, this research project has focu
sed to identify basic reasons for occu
ence of medication e
ors in hospitals.
Research significance
This research study has become
significant in the consequent field of medical study as it
deals with one of the most effective issues in medications in the recent world.
As described by
Qato
,
Ozen
erger & Olfson (2018),
medication e
or not only impacts on physical conditions of individuals but also it affects
mental health also. For this reason, this research project has shed light on finding the basic reasons
that are potential to cause medication e
ors. Different case studies have revealed that lack of training and knowledge among healthcare providers
causes
e
ors in medication. Thus, it is required to analyze the effective ways which can be helpful to uplift infrastructure of nursing practices which can be helpful to
overcome adverse effective of medications.
Thereby, this research has aimed to analyze the theoretical perspectives are life care process and impacts of medication e
ors in care process.

Qualitative research design will be used to gather plenty of theoretical data.
In this respect, phenomenological study will be conducted to assess patients.
) (
Most relevant articles published between 2
015 to 2020 will be considered as inclusion criteria.
Effective sampling will be helpful to gather most authentic data based on research topic (
Flick,
2016
, p. 4
).
) (
Purposive sampling
will be chosen to reduce any type of data duplication.
I
elevant journals will be discarded which are least important for this research.
) (
Secondary data collection method will be followed as
this research topic is based on qualitative method. It will be helpful to gather huge data regarding adverse effects of medications on patients in ICU.
