Growth of online financial services in INDIA 
 
A high growth is expected in the amount of Indian people using e – commerce and other 
financial services. This may be because of the increase in the awareness about internet in Indian people 
or because of them accepting internet as a part of their lives. Online financial services stand in a unique 
position in India. Especially e – commerce is doing excellent in different sectors such as ticket, hotel – 
bookings, music and video downloads, online tutoring, tailing industry, various financial services and a 
lot more. A lot of financial transactions happen over internet such as premium payments, funds transfer 
etc. 
 It is estimated that, by the end of 2009, the online financial services contributed to about 8% of 
total market size of e – commerce in India, with an annual average growth of about 30%. The overall 
market size of online financial services in 2009 is 15.4 Billon.
