Step 2 – The leadership project (understanding the scenario) which requires a leadership response Your group represents the leadership team in an Early Childhood Centre in your annual general meeting you have decided to develop a clearer sustainability agenda in your centre. This will involve developing a sustainability education philosophy (part i) that considers the important role that sustainability education plays in the early childhood setting. Part (i) is deeply interested in the important role of advocacy and leadership. Advocating for sustainable practices and principles is important. The next element (part ii) will be the communication to staff about the pedagogy and practices that are going to be implemented in the setting and why they are important. (Part iii) is written for parents and communicates the leadership position of the centre and explains a rational for the sustainability focus. It also outlines some key practices parents can get involved in to partner with the centre.
Step 3 – Your assessment task which is a portfolio is divided into 3 parts

(Part iii) is a news letter written for parents that states the leadership position of the centre and explains a rational for the sustainability focus. It also outlines some key practices parents can get involved in to partner with the centre – 1000 words (support with at least 3 readings)
Part 2 Critical Reflection – 15%
This 600 word critical reflection must meet the following criteria –
Describe 3 theoretical arguments or characteristics of leadership that you have encountered though this unit Support with 3 readings.
Discuss how they have influenced your understanding of leadership Support with practical examples.
