In modules one and two you learned about various historical, social movements in the United States. You have also learned that education has always played an influential role in these movements. In this milestone, you will expand your knowledge by choosing a specific historical movement to research. You will analyze a historical movement and discover how the movement impacted society and more specifically, education. Choose and research one of the following movements. Some sources are provided to get you started but you will need to include more than just the provided sources to complete this assignment.

Research your selected movement and answer the following questions in essay format. Include at least 5 sources along with proper APA citations.
1. What movement did you select and what was happening in the US at the time that sparked this movement?
2. What were the goals of the movement? What did it aim to change?
3. Who was involved in the movement? Identify one influential person as well as the groups that were involved.
4. Who opposed the movement and why?
5. What did the movement accomplish? Was there legislation passed? Did society change as a result? Do we still see the effects of the movement today?
6. What role did education play in the movement? Was education affected in any way as a result of the movement? Was education used to advance ideas of the movement?
7. If you were alive at the time of the movement you choose, would you participate? Why or why not?
8. Include and write about one primary source that sums up the essence of the movement. It can be a picture, a painting, a video, a poem, court records, a flyer, a passage, etc.
