FIELD REPORT
Introduction
In the present times certain things have changed and there are things which still need to be changed. It is the high time to consider that bioregionalism self sufficiency, which is considered as the principle of meeting human needs within the expected region of the constraint of resource is something that need to be channelized and looked as it is the key point which would lead to the democracy and prosperity. The free trade is channelized as the present system of trade is so lethal that it increases the poverty and did not provide any kind of additive benefit to the poor. Bioregionalism and resilient community is the demand of the present times that need to be considered effectively. Some of the regions like the Fremantle, Perth and ECOBURBIA are the places which do exercise and promotes this kind of activity so that it could extract the most out of it.
Background
The two days field visit in three of the locations of the Western Australia was conducted on 10th and 11th of December 2021 led by the tutor with almost twenty eight students under the unit of Resilience Religion, people and practice. Through the field trip the students gained insight about several topics which they used to study in their course. All the case studies were in the cities of Western Australia i.e. Fremantle, Perth and ECOBURBIA. The report evaluates where the regions were resilient or based on bioregionalism, the insight is gained through the several observations in the field trip. The case studies also takes into account the three topics i.e. Ecosystem health and restoration of topic four, transforming agriculture of topic five and creating resilient communities of topic twelve.
1. Case study: Fremantle
Fremantle city is a prime port city in Western Australia, which is famous for its maritime history and for supporting the arts from local to national artists. Fremantle is among one of the most u
anized cities of the Western Australia.
Unit Topic 4: Ecosystem Health and Restoration
Ecosystem health and restoration has become the prime concern of everyone living in the society. As restoring the ecosystem health would further lead to improve the human health and well being. Considering the Fremantle the city is extensively looking at the ecosystem health and restoration. The city has several landscape areas that have been modified historically and provide a certain natural habitat for the species like the Flora and Fauna. The several areas include the foreshores of the river, coastal areas and the u
an bush land including the cantonment park and the Samson hills. These several areas are the prime example of the connection with the nature in an u
an environment and the areas to protect and enhance biodiversity. The link between these areas increases for the biodiversity and improve the condition for several transport modes in the city. The city has several natural landscapes including the Bathers beach, Port beach, Sampson Park and BOOYEMBARA Park. The appropriate management and maintenance is required in order to enhance these ecological systems (Bradby, Keesing  Wardell‐Johnson, 2016).
As the fact states that biodiversity is the variety of all life forms and all the different plant, animals, microorganism and the ecosystem is its extensive part. Though the Fremantle city come under the highly u
anized cities and developed environment but still there are habitat and ecosystem that retains biodiversity. The biodiversity in Fremantle takes into consideration the retention and enhancement of habitat areas for the local flora and fauna. The habitat creation of the local Flora and Fauna is encouraged on both public and private lands. Despite of the several approaches still there are things that need to be effectively managed in order to the restoration of the ecosystem health within the city. The developing of the links is necessary in order to increase the amount of the vegetation cover and habitat. There is still the need to increase the linkages between green spaces and the areas of biodiversity.
Unit Topic 5: Transforming Agriculture
Fremantle is considered as one of the prime resilient and bioregional community concerning its several aspects and one of its prime aspects is transforming agriculture within the city. The social farm of the north Fremantle is a place that contains huge learning and demonstration regarding transforming the agriculture. In the farm the food is grown for the u
an community using primarily the organic and regenerative farming principles. It helps the local community in learning together through participations, workshops and knowledge sharing. The farm is the prime example of creating social connections for happy, healthy and resilient communities and people (Ka
, 2000).
The existence of the farm in the Fremantle represents how effectively the agriculture could be transformed and used for the benefit of the whole community. The farm also allows to pick up am individual their own produced food. The members of the park contributed in transforming the disused bowling green into the public amenity. It provides the opportunity to learn all the aspects of the u
an farming through volunteering or taking active participation in the process. It allows the member of the farm to grow their own food and pick them for use also. Despite of all the advantages there are certain things that need to be considered as a single farm like this cannot
ing much change more activities like this is required in order to connect more and more people and making them aware of the benefits of transforming agriculture and getting the most of it.
