ed as ‘Women’. Women’s status is a term that describes her situation in both absolute terms and in terms relative to men. The concept of status is central to sociology which reflects a person’s evaluation on her position in the status hierarchy in terms of occupation, education, income, inheritance and the like. Status denotes the relative position of a person in relation to other person or in a group of persons on a hierarchy of social worth.

Gender inequality is a major and serious threat that existed for a long time across the world due to which the women gender always found them at the receiving end. Due to society taboos women in major countries were always given second preference in terms of empowerment as compared to men which is bad for the society. Till today specially in two continents, Asia and Africa, gender inequality is seen predominantly as compared to other continents, which is majorly due to education, poverty, illiteracy, employment, decision making and issues towards the girl child. The situation of women in our world today is very important.
