Introduction
The “abilities, values, and knowledge, and emotional and cognitive processes that compose the competency at the generalist level of practice" are described by nine social work competencies (Asakura, Gheorghe, Borgen, Sewell & MacDonald, 2021). These competency statements are requirements that social workers must follow on a regular basis when providing services.
Competency 1
Ethical behaviour benefits both individuals and businesses, and it entails demonstrating adherence to core moral ideals. Professionalism is defined as the traits, behaviour, or goals that distinguish or define a professional individual or profession (Glajchen et al., 2018). Social workers are aware of the profession's standards and beliefs. They employ oversight, regulations and comprehend rules, and put them into practise at the macro, mezzo, and micro levels.
Competency 2
It entails not just appreciating diversity but also putting it into practise by asking probing questions, co
ecting prejudices, and applying the understanding and information obtained to serve customers better. Social workers deal with people of all marital statuses, political ideologies, religions, ethnicities, cultures, socioeconomic classes, sexual orientations, ages, and genders. They understand that these distinctions are a part of their clients' identities and that they help to shape our common society.
