Rising price of textbooks that students must purchase:
a. Expenditure on 3 English textbook in 2012 = $100x3 = $300
Expenditure on 3 English textbook in 2014 = $114x3 = $342
Percentage change in price of English textbook from 2012 to 2914 = (342-300)/300 x 100
Percentage change in price of English textbook = 14%
. Expenditure on 2 math textbook in 2012 = $110x2 = $220
Expenditure on 2 math textbook in 2014 = $148x2 = $296
Percentage change in price between 2012 and 2014 = ($296-220)/220 x 100
Percentage change in price of math textbook from 2012 to 2014 = 34.5%
