Theory of variation is a science concept or phenomenon but holds considerable importance and profoundness in field of management. Theory of variation states that every process, function and outcome is associated with some kind of variation or deviation. Such variations are subject to influence the performance and success criteria of respective processes, functions, and outcome considerably. It is also evident that controlling such variations is quite difficult and almost impossible and they are certain to occur or happen. In business world, the most evident impact of variations is identified in terms of poor quality and increased cost.
For the past many years, business organisations have also considered controlling and reducing incidences of variations as a quite difficult task. However, with the impact of variations on the cost structure and quality outputs lead the business personnel to develop measures and foster strategies to control such variations at the initial possible stage.
