Forgotten Women
There is an idiom that reads, “Behind every great man is a great woman”. While this holds true in most cases, if critically analyzed, even this statement glorifying women is rooted in gender bias and discrimination. This is because it not only reduces the role of women to supporters it also undermines the achievements of women itself. Women have been pioneers of achievements in almost all fields historically. The problem has been that history has dominantly been written by men and the pivotal contributions of women have been either ignored or forgotten (Asiedu, 2019).
