Pricing Strategy
Tesla customers are not verysensitiveto price changes. This is due to the demographics of Tesla purchases. Tesla drivers tend to be individuals who make over six figures and gainfully employed. In addition, many Tesla drivers purchased theirvehiclesnot due to the pricefothe vehicles, but on other factors. These factors include things such as wanting to purchase a vehicle that utilizes the newest technology.
For Tesla’s Model 3vehiclewhich sells for $35,000, purchases need to purchase $6,000 in add on options. For the more expensive Tesla such as the Tesla Roadster which sells for $200,000 the price is a major selling point as it speaks to the vehicle being a prestige symbol. The bulk of Tesla owners make more money than most American’s and so the price of a Teslavehiclehelps create a marketing gimmick in which a selected few can purchase one. While they are many independent reviewsof Tesla vehicles'quality, it is clear by the way Tesla are marketed, that quality is not the major selling point. Instead, Tesla vehiclesspeak to customer’s wants in regards to luxury vehicles.

Chapter 11: Pricing Strategy
The Uber service I will focus on from my pricing strategy is UberEATS. The service is a three-part service encompassing the restaurant, the delivery person and the customers that need the food. The best way I see to make everyone in the transaction happy is to apply fees to different parts of the transaction.
- Cost of the Food - This is the most basic cost involved in every Uber Eats order. You can view the prices of each item within the app, as well as any charges for substitutions.
- Applicable Taxes - You’ll pay the applicable taxes for your area. This generally includes sales tax, as well as any other taxes levied on courier services.
- Booking Fee - The booking fee is where you pay for the convenience of having food delivered to your door at the tap of a few buttons. This fee goes to cover Uber Eats’ operational costs like Uber Eats driver pay.
- Busy Fee (If Applicable) - Where allowable by local law, Uber Eats will charge a busy fee when order demand exceeds available drivers.
- Tip (Optional) - The final cost involved in an Uber Eats order is the tip. Tipping is optional, but is encourage, especially if you received excellent customer service.
