Why would a health care clinic or hospital need a health information manager?
Health information managers are needed by providers of healthcare and HIPAA-covered entities of others for ensuring information security and privacy for patients. Such involves medical billing and coding, compliance getting ensured with regulations of government and handling requests of customers for PHI (personal health information). They utilize administrative management skills, clinical knowledge and modern information technology for securing, analyzing and obtaining patient's traditional and digital health records. Their responsibilities involve maintaining, implementing and designing a computerized system of health information (Skurka, 2017). They educate co-workers regarding technology and procedures utilized towards medical records. They even supervise other employees. Such managers even assist in creating health information policies and setting budgets. They work in nursing homes, clinics, private practices and hospitals. They are even found in governmental organizations, federal agencies and health departments.
How might having a designated manager help ensure the privacy of patient records?
Having such a manager plays one significant role in managing healthcare information flow. Such includes not just overseeing things coming through other information portals and electronic health records but also ways in which information is getting released. They ensure organizations are following guidelines of HIPAA for avoiding costly penalties and protecting patient information.
Such managers help combat threats like phishing attacks, ransomware and malware and the hijacking of devices too. They advocate proper solutions towards protecting other sources and EHRs consisting of private information in the workplace (Al Omar et al., 2019). Such managers help in maintain and creating standards involving polices in healthcare organizations involving minimisation of chances of information getting compromised. They doing such help other employees and providers in proper data management and protecting patient security and privacy.

Identify an effective healthcare organization that utilizes information technology
Analyze the components and requirements of its information systems technology program
The healthcare organization XYZ consist of core components of four along with requirements regarding clinical information systems are discussed accordingly.
Electronic Health Records- such an organization has implementation upon systems of security for data exchange among other authorized users, patients, suppliers and providers. EHR of the patient usually involves long term information for data regarding the daily life of the patient. Such information turns out in use not only towards delivery and planning of care being progressive but would even give evidence for assessment of different interventions clinically (Su et al., 2017). System engineering techniques and tools have availability towards determination and modelling of information needs of the system delivering progressive care, evaluating the performance of systems.
Computerized Physician Order Entry Systems- Utilizing systems of CPOE for entering orders for other procedures, drugs and tests result in transcription e
ors getting reduced, which usually leads to patient safety improvements which are demonstrable. Once it's integrated with other clinical application cores, its impact on patient safety improves. Systems of CPOE including data regarding the history of drug interactions or allergies, cu
ent medications and patient diagnoses reduce prescriptions e
ors greatly. They even help in improving care quality through an increase in clinician compliance with guidelines of care standardized. They thus help reduce care variations. Despite many benefits, such has not been implemented widely yet among other organizations.
Digital sources of knowledge and evidence- Such involves comparative databases, evidence-based clinical guidelines and bibliographic references which has essentiality towards a practice based on evidence. Most of such are cu
ently systems standing alone, not having integration in systems of clinical information (Cassidy, 2016). Challenges for practitioners involve utilizing such evidence sources being combined with expertise and experiences of theirs for making decisions clinically. However such bases of medical evidence continue upon expansion being exponential where further clinicians keep accepting validities of practices best demonstrated for treatment and diagnosis. Interest involves the integration of digital sources of evidence expanding rapidly in tools supporting decision which are integrated into processes of care entirely.
Decision-support tools- EHR creations, developing digital sources of knowledge and standardizing healthcare data would all facilitate toward utilizing decision support tools, regarded as main components in systems of clinical information. Such a tool's full integration in the care process enables both patients and care providers in accessing medical knowledge having relevance towards the care of a patient. They might even help in identifying interactions of negativity between drugs already taken by the patient along with drug about to be described additionally (Rajaraman, 2018). The clinical data repository is one necessary platform for such tools collecting and storing information about patient care from sources diversified.
Explain the requirements for health care information technology systems to comply with federal, state, and local laws governing patient information security
Requirements regarding healthcare information technology systems for complying with laws which govern the safety of patient involve one framework consisting of detailed regulatory and statutory protections regarding privacy. Such is designed for calling attention towards issues regarding practices of recordkeeping in the age of computers having significances profoundly. It consists of the principles of fair information practices. Principles are intended towards providing a basis towards the establishment of procedures. Such assures upon the individual having the right towards participation in meaningful ways regarding decisions regarding his/her records and the ways information be used.
Such fundamental principles have its amplification and adoption in several ways at state, federal and international levels. The principles involving practices of fair information are as follows-
Limitation in the collection- Limits are needed when collecting personal data and such data are needed to be obtained by fair and lawful means. Also, it is obtained with keeping consent or knowledge regarding the subject of data.
Quality of data- Data personalized needs relevance towards purposes where such are utilized and to the extent where such purposes become necessary (Mehraeen, Ayatollahi&Ahmadi, 2016). It even needs a proper update, completion and accuracy.
Specification of purpose- Purposes where personal data gets collected needs specification not later rather than at data collection time. Subsequent utilizations having limits towards fulfilling such purposes or others don't have an incompatibility with purposes of such. Such...
