Enterprise Architects have standardized on Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) as the visual modeling notation for capturing and representing detail-level business architecture. BPMN has been evolving for many years and has led to several specification updates from 1.x to 2.x versions.

 Business Process Model and Notation(BPMN) defines standard for business process modeling 
so that businesses processes are uniform and can be understood by anyone who knows the  
standards of BPMN. BPMN is an official way to design the business processes and share them 
among all the BPM tools in the market. They can represent 4 types of diagrams which are 
process diagrams, collaboration diagrams, conversation diagrams, Choreography diagrams.
