Introduction 
The present report gives the guidelines that can be used to inform decision makers about 
the best operating systems that can be used in health care delivery plate-forms. Before 
making a technical choice, decision makers have to know the advantages and the 
disadvantages of the operating system to be chosen. In this report, we will focus on the 
comparison between Linux and Windows since they are most used operating systems in the 
world. 
Linux vs Windows 
It is important to know that most of the Linux variants are provided at a low price and most 
of the cases for free, generally at a much lower cost than other operating systems especially 
Microsoft Windows. It should bear in mind that each license copy of MS Windows costs 
between 50 and 150 US dollars. Although most of Linux distributions are enhanced 
significantly in ease of usage with a friendly interface, the Windows operating system is still 
much simpler to manipulate for almost end users since windows is very familiar and it is 
more frequent that they are already persons using Windows OS in schools and universities 
and even at home not only at their offices. Consequently, it is better to adopt it as a
