Legitimacy
Background
Legitimacy is a fundamental aspect of strategic planning that entails the public acquiescence of the organisation's actions. In social philosophy, legitimacy refers to the authority and acknowledgement of a governing regime or law. Legitimacy refers to a system of administration where government refers to a "sphere of control." A legitimate authority frequently has the entitlement and rationalisation to assert control (Belizón & Kieran 2021). Political legitimacy is regarded as a fundamental requirement for governance, beyond which an administration will face legislative collapse and deadlock(s). The nation reacted to the crisis in 2009 with counter-cyclical policy initiatives that alleviated pain and sheltered the most susceptible, but an ideal storm hit Brasilia during 2014, destroying the economy and undermining Brazilian democracy's legitimacy (Belizón & Kieran 2021).
The start of the economic downturn co
esponded with disclosures from the Lava Jato co
upt practices response team, which discovered that politicians and corporate executives had colluded to syphon off sourcing kickbacks to fund political candidates and parties. The extent of the Lava Jato system was unparalleled, but campaign offshore accounts are nothing unique in Brazil. According to a recent study, two-thirds of participants have lost faith in political parties. Brazilian residents will be required to band together through non-partisan, impartial collaborative action to help the nation's battered legitimacy recover (Nogueira 2019).
In fragile states, a dearth of legitimacy diminishes effective...
