Now a days, information and communication technology are driven tourism industry. The word tourism industry included companies such as rental agencies, travel agencies and tour operators. A travel agency is public service or private retailer. It provides the services to the public which related to travel and tourism. It makes business plan to own customer on behalf of supplier that is hotels, railways, car rentals, airlines, cruise lines, package tours and travel insurance. Different travel agencies are specialized in different travels. Some are make plan for business travel only, most of the travel agencies specialize in commercial and business only. Apart of this, foreign travel companies allow some travel agency to have offices in countries, here the location of headquater is different and serves as general sales agents.  The main function of travel agency is act as agent. It is selling travel services and products in the place of supplier (Buhalis, 2003).
The role of communication technology in tourism agency
Every tourism organization is affected by unabated innovation and advances of ICT (Information and communication technology).beyond recognition, there is a transformation in tourism industry due to the use of information and communication technologies widely. As we see the rapid penetration in travel and tourism sectors due to the online booking system through internet. Information intensive industries which have great extent of information are represented by tourism sectors. The core activities of tourism enterprises such as collection, creation, retrivel, storage and transfer are included in it (Januszewska, 2015). In a business, the strategy of Tourism Company changed due to the new innovation in IT sector. The behavior of tourists are imposed such transformation under the information and technology’s influence. The process of selling of tourist services is on the basis of collection of information through different channels like websites of tourist service suppliers, brochures. In tourist sector, Due to the innovative information and communication technologies, now it will be possible to online booking service directly on website. So it is essential for tourism agency to have best technology to design effective business model in travel sector (Berne, 2015).
 In 21st century, many travel agencies have adapted considerable change to make relevant and solvent. Due to the widespread use of internet, self service online booking has great impact on travel agency. So for the customer there is no need to visit agency, now book online own travel plan. The integral part of travel agency business is computers. Travel agency organized their data and managed business through the enterprise level software. So the agencies run efficiently due to this organization. Some other is Brick and mortar agency, coordination, changing market and outlook (Laverty, 2018).

For every type of business, technology in the form of hardware, software, internet and communication makes life easier. There are some quality like automation, efficiency, business opportunities, knowledge of customer, development of services or product fastly, new entrants space and knowledge of traveler have brought by technology. In modern era, it is need to maintain the rhythm of change by travel agency. Now information is available for everybody. But structure information with intelligence is where added value to be brought to the traveler on the basis of specific needs. It is actually that traveler wants. Buy and experience.
