Introduction-
Quality of healthcare services is an international issue these days as there are no specific set standards which every healthcare organization follows to provide similar services to the people. Defining quality of care becomes complex when every healthcare group wants to provide the best facility but have very different criteria to measure those quality which may or may not be as per customers expectation, thus getting proper and transparent information about quality of care should be made public and be a key component of clinical governance. The United States has established organizations like AHRQ (Agency for healthcare and quality) and also National quality forum to develop and promote the disclosure of quality measure and maintain its quality throughout process and outcome. Process measure and outcome measures are two type of quality of care measurement.
Process measure of quality-
It assist in assessing the health care process which the provider (health care organization) adopt so as to attain the desired objectives and in addition it also helps to measure the degree to which the group avoid any processes which diverts them from the desired aim. Here, the services provided to the patient is measured i.e. was it according the patient preference. It can vary from a regular encounter and conversation of doctor and patient abut his/her health, providing proper information about the progress, emotional support etc. 
Advantages of Process measure-
· It provides fair and actionable information i.e. with the help of process measure clinicians come to know about the process which has been done accurately as desired and which process needs improvement.
· Process measure can be used to provide feedbacks in reference to quality improvement.
· Size of population needed for process measurement is small as every patient experience same process.
· Take less time for data accumulation as it can be done when clinical process is occurring and also take less observation time (due to small sample size). 
· Data already recorded for clinical or other use can also be used here which definetly ease the data collection process.
