An understanding of the role and psychological thinking of Dexter in the television series

Dexter is a psychological perspective played by a fictitious character who leads a dual life. One form of his life includes working as a reporting analyst during the day whereas his other form of life includes a negative perspective of leading a split life of a murderer. Thus, in this series, his character and personality are depicted in the form of a dual character with a split personality. Moral up
inging and inculcation of good values are of prime importance in the development of families (Clyman, 2011). In most families, a father has the responsibility of nourishing and providing financial support and care to the wife and children. In one perspective the father of Dexter named Ha
y is a good moral character who is focused and determined to raise Dexter in a positive environment but in another perspective a shadow of a bad portrait of Ha
y remains inside the body and soul of Dexter as Dexter becomes deviant and socially destructive at night. Dexter starts murdering people with a negative and a psychopath's frame of mind (Clyman, 2011).
Different psychological theories can be used for understanding the mindset, personal behavior, and psychological thinking of the dual character of Dexter in the different seasons of the television series. The different theories which can be applied to the character of Dexter include family therapy, cognitive therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy. The question in mind is how the different theories can be put together to analyze the role of Dexter Morgan in the fiction television series?
Psychodynamic therapy is essential in understanding the inner thoughts, perceptions, and emotional well-being of the patients undergoing this therapy. A counselor carefully analyzes the different perspectives of thoughts, emotions, and feelings which emerge in the
ain of the patients. A counselor assures a patient that he needs to overcome the negative thoughts and the traumatic experiences that a patient faced in his childhood. Traumatic experiences faced by a person in childhood are very troublesome and form a cobweb in the
ain of the person and which are difficult to remove. In addition, other psychological theories are equally important like family therapy, cognitive therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (Psychology, OpenStax, 2022). Various relaxation techniques are used in cognitive behavioral therapy to help the patients relieve the stress and anxiety present in their minds. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is very essential for treating the condition of insomnia in the patients undergoing treatment. Further, this theory helps a patient overcome the negative thoughts and develop a positive mindset with a tendency to forget the troubling events that occu
ed in the past. Cognitive-behavioral therapy plays a significant role in treating patients suffering from mental diseases like depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress problems, stress-related problems, split or bipolar problems, and disorders related to the intake of banned psychotropic agents (Psychology, OpenStax, 2022).
CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy) closely analyzes the occu
ence of a bad event, the perception or belief present in the
ain of a person witnessing that event, and the consequences that took place after the occu
ence of a traumatic event. In client therapy also a counselor asks a patient to actively reveal the different thoughts, perceptions, or illusions that occur or are present in the
ain. Further, necessary steps...
