Introduction
The model of PRECEDE-PROCEED is an agenda scheduling model that devises an environmental mode for promoting health issues. The PRECEDE-PROCEED Model is actually a program development replica, and not a theoretical one. It offers a step wise framework, which helps practitioners in planning, implementing, and analyzing an agenda and its efficiency. In 1970’s for addressing the need and competence of public health promotions to adequately plan prior implementing interferences, the PRECEDE model was being found by Dr. Lawrence W. Green and his colleagues. This name is the short form, which denotes Predisposing, Reinforcing, Enabling Constructs in Educational/Environmental Diagnosis and Evaluation. Until 1991, once Dr. Green along with Dr. Marshall Kreuter introduced the PROCEED part of the replica for including the environmental feature to the replica, it was accepted. The PROCEED short form denotes Policy, Regulatory, and Organizational Constructs in Educational and Environmental Development. These acronyms stands for various actions within every plan, implement, and evaluation step in the model. In this agenda, we will be discussing about an oral health program of a community based in NSW, Australia.
Background
Aboriginal Elders of Central Northern NSW, in the year 2013 recognized three Aboriginal communities, which had very limited dental service access and required defensive oral healthcare plan. Consequently, the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health and the Centre for Oral Health Strategy were requested to work with these communities in affiliation with the neighboring Aboriginal community for introducing sustainable dental services as well as defensive oral healthcare agenda for Aboriginals inhibiting the area. In 2014, a community-guided oral health service was found that offers all-inclusive dental treatment focused aiding Aboriginal people of Central Northern NSW. This service works utilizing clinicians who have moved to the area along with trained neighboring Aboriginal inhabitants who are working as dental aides. Transportable dental apparatus are used for providing dental treatment to Aboriginal kids and adults of schools and neighboring community health points. (Colodny, Miller & Faralli, 2015). According to the request of community to provide precautionary oral health care agenda, a three-phase preparation as per the Precede-Proceed model of health program a
angement was devised for developing a sustainable, community-guided protective oral health agenda.
Application of Precede-Proceed model for health promotion development for planning and implementing oral health promotion in three rural and remote NSW communities
The Precede-Proceed Model
The Precede-Proceed model was devised it being is a well-liked development tool for population health agendas. It comprises a chain of stages for assisting researchers in planning, designing, implementing and evaluating health course. (Gwynne et al,. 2016). The primary set of steps (PRECEDE) comprises deliberate evaluations to notify the health program design. The succeeding set of steps (PROCEED) includes implementation of a health agenda as per information acquired from the PRECEDE steps. Led by the Precede-Proceed model, Phase 1 comprised an epidemiological evaluation of all Aboriginal kids ranged from 5 to 12 years and registered in local schools. Also, an educational and ecological evaluation was also done for determining pre-disposing threat aspects and strengthening and letting issues to notify a targeted oral health agenda. The numbers of putrefied, lost and filled teeth were written down and marginal oral health awareness and oral sanitation performance of kids, parents and/or guardians,...
