Introduction 
Domestic violence and child abuse has become a growing concern in today’s world because of the increase in number of cases. In certain situations, it has been observed that most of the abuse comes from the people who are directly associated with law and justice system.  In this scenario the discussion is done on a person who is associated with the multidisciplinary team dealing with the patient of psychiatric disorder, however, he physically assaults his wife and his 10-year-old child. The discussion is done on the mandatory reporting of the situation, and to judge its relevancy.   
Mandatory Reporting
In this scenario, Justin a member of a multidisciplinary team dealing with the people having psychiatric disorder, troubled backgrounds, trauma and abuse is involved in the physically abuse and torcher of his wife and his 10-year-old child. As a RN I came to know about this when wife of Justin, Sarah had disclosed me regarding the situation, and subsequently I Have witnessed in person the marks of the abuse. In this situation being told by Sarah to not report the matter, it is mandatory to report the matter of abuse to the law. According to the NSW legislation (2021),
