Terms and definitions
Below is a list of terms which are relevant to this unit. Please provide responses in your own words, to fully demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of each term. You will need to undertake your own research (online, dictionary, relevant books), in addition to reviewing your learning content.

Cultural diversity
Cultural diversity refers to the organisational policy of including employees from different cultural backgrounds, and prioritising their cultural differences while managing the tasks and management processes. In a culturally diverse workplace, the rigidity of cultural preferences for a single culture is not indulged and the management offers higher sensibility towards multi-cultural aspects.[footnoteRef:1] [1: Do

The tendency of attaining cultural diversity at workplace is seen more prevalent in business organisations, when they are expanding their businesses in a decentralised and international market context, taking note of the fact that human resource catering from different markets as necessary. The managers play the most significant roles in retaining cultural diversity at workplace and they use carefully selected terms for communication, take note of the unbiased treatment and career opportunity to ensure cultural diversity is retained. It is worth the mention that the recruitment board of business organisations are also responsible for cultural diversity retention.
Example: As example, any business organisation expanding its services overseas, attain cultural diversity to reduce its cost of service offering development, which includes the recruitment of locals and showing respect for their culture in order to get the best performance from them.
Stereotype
Stereotype refers to the repetitive and typical actions conducted in a workplace that is already being used many times for their effectiveness, support availability and consistency. Stereotype in business organisations mean conducting actions in a predetermined way, which offer consistency but lacks the scope of innovation and creativity as well as scope for overhauling the production line.
At the time when business organisations do not face the threat from market rivals and cater consistent profit, stereotypical actions in production and management are used.
