Introduction 
The current healthcare model in U.S, ‘fee-per-service’ shifts the focus from quality and value based services; thus, establishing a money making businesses within healthcare. Therefore, a new approach was proposed in the prior presented paper, which was ‘pay for performance’ also known as value-based payment. The presented approach introduced certain concepts and new models concerning financial incentives facilitating service provider’s performance. This paper will discuss literature articles concerning the presented topic.

This paper by Soucat, Dale, Mathauer and Kutzin (2017) discussed and argued the implementation of pay-for-performance system and authors proposed that, implementation of this model requires overall health system reforms. Interaction between service provider and receiver has been considered as a determining factor concerning the health outcomes.
