that they usually experience more stress as well as anxiety than rest of the population. There 
might be several reasons behind this state of mind in them for example; (i) physical demands 
(such as; requirement of stamina), (ii) psychological demands (like; fear about re-injury, surgery, 
and failure), (iii) environmental demands (for instance; need to learn a novel methodology), (iv) 
expectations, (v) relationship matters (as; divorce), and (vi) concerns regarding the direction of 
life and so on. According to experts, such factors may affect the performance of a sports person 
in an adverse manner and can even lead to dropout. Therefore; it’s compulsory to manage this 
type of issues tactically (Landers, 1980). 
Fortunately, there are various coping mechanisms for such sports persons who are 
suffering from pressure and/ or nervousness. For instance; to deal with physical demands, 
rational philosophy must be followed as; it can assist an individual in pre-competition mental 
preparation and might alter his behavior positively so that, he may get involved in hard as well as 
smart training activities.
