There are some differences between the student and expert reports. Firstly, the student report failed to mention the use of closed-loop communication (CLC) skills through the scenario. In contrast, the expert has discussed in detail. Closed-loop communication is essential for effective communication and teamwork because it helps to prevent the misinterpretation, allows for clarification of requests and reduces errors of omission, therefore, enhancing the patient safety (Gluyas, XXXXXXXXXXIt can not only help to prevents medical errors but also improve staff satisfaction and promote organisational efficiency. (El-Shafy alet., 2018).
Another aspect which was not discussed in the student report is the importance of trust in interprofessional collaboration. Trust is a vital aspect to create effective teamwork, as it helps to improve team cohesion and assist the group to achieve the true goals of care (Gregory & Austin, XXXXXXXXXXHealthy trust among staffs can also promote job satisfaction and increase job retention. It is stated that broken trust in nursing teamwork can bring a significant effect to staffs and patient. when staffs distrust their colleges, they are less likely to seek help from each other and share their ideas. This can negatively impact on clinical performances and increase chances of marking errors ( Gregory & Austin, XXXXXXXXXXMoreover, distrust in colleagues has also affected the patient experiences. The lack of trust in the nursing team can cause significant stress on the patient. Therefore, a trustful relationship between staffs is very crucial as it enables the patient’s positive feelings about hospital services and increase patient loyalty and bring economic benefits to the organisation (Renee, 2011).

Through the expert report, the student has demonstrated a better understanding about the effectiveness of communication and teamwork impact on the patient, staffs and organisation. Effective communication is not only used between health care professionals with the patient, but it also plays an important role in the nursing team work. Effective communication helps the health care team provide early intervention, improve clinical practice, reduce medical errors and enhance staff’s satisfaction. It can also bring serval of benefits for organisation such as promoting sustainable future and a good reputation for the hospital. In addition, this scenario has highlighted the importance of closed loop communication. CLC is one of the most important aspect of effective communication as it allows for clarification of orders, reduce errors, and promote the patient safety and increase the speed and efficiency with tasks completed. CLC helps to delegates tasks effectively, enhance the safety of clinical performance and increase staff satisfaction (Randmaa al et.,2014). In the future practice, it is important to utilise closed- loop communication aspect as It will help me to clarification of requests and prevent errors occurred, especially with medication management. Thus, the effective use of CLC would also help me to enhance the speed and efficiency with tasks performance (El-Shafy alet., 2018).

Communication tools are also vital in nursing practice, that may help the health care professional to maintain and improve the patient outcomes. It is stated that when the nurses need to communicate complex information in an emergency situation, it is vital to use structured communication tools to ensure accuracy and minimise medical errors (O’Daniel & Rosenstein, XXXXXXXXXXThere are several communication tools which could be used in the nursing practice such as ISBAR handover, systematic DRSABCD assessment tools, graphic aids, charting. The effectively use of communication tools can assist the health professionals to efficiently recognise signs of patient’s deteriorations and ensure that appropriate intervention is taken (Preece, Hill, Horswill & Watson, 2012). Therefore, in future practice, it’s very important to ensure that a comprehensive and systematic nursing assessment being provide to enhance the patient safety and improve quality patient care( Liaw et al., XXXXXXXXXXIn addition, it may also help me to reduce making errors by following approach systematic system.
Teamwork plays a crucial role in nursing practice. An effective teamwork can immediately and positively improve the patient safety and health outcome as it reduces adverse events caused by miscommunication between health care professionals and misunderstand roles and responsibilities ( Babiker al et., XXXXXXXXXXWith the staffs, Effective teamwork can also improve staff’s retention, promote a safe and healthy work environment and improve coordination of care. Effective teamwork can also bring a several benefits to organisation including reduced time and costs of hospital, promoted a positive reputation and provided a more sustainable future for the organisation (Güzel, Tengilimoglu & Ekiyor, 2015).
In addition, the principles that contribute to a successful team consists of shared goals, leadership skills, clear roles in a team mutual respect, and open communication(Babiker al et., XXXXXXXXXXLeadership skills are the key aspect of an effective team. The leader of the team is the person who facilitate, delegate, coach and coordinates the activities of other team members(Clements et al., XXXXXXXXXXEffective leader skills can allow the leader to structure the team to work effectively together, enhance team work cohesion and promote a positive team environment. Working together with trust and mutual respect can help to create a strong norm of reciprocity and a greater opportunity to learn from each other. This will help each team member to feel safe when they speak up. Open communication gives an opportunity to express any additional, questions regards to provide the best patient outcome and it also creates an environment in which the team members can speak up and express concerns. In my future practice, it is important to enhance my communication skills with other colleges in order to promote an effective communication. Improved knowledge and clinical experience are also essential to contribute to the effective of teamwork as it will reduce time to tasks completed, improve team performance. Being a part of a team, I should also respect and build up trust relationship with my colleges.
This case study has consolidated my knowledge on the understanding of the importance of communication and teamwork on patients, staff and organisations. The key take home message for me is to establish my effective communication skills in clinical environment not only with patients but also with other co-workers. These skills can be developed by utilising closed loop communication, practicing non-verbal communication and proficiently use of communication tools. These skills will help me to prevent making errors in future practice and collaborate effectively with my colleges. Effective communication and teamwork will help me satisfaction on my job and assist be to be a better nurse.
