Create a Nutritional Handout
  Please create a one or two page educational handout based on the nutrition topic selected in class and choose the audience you intend the information for such as teenagers, elderly, general population, cardiac patients etc. When creating your educational handout please be sure to include pertinent nutrition information. Consider the following:
· Explain your topic in an easy to understand language that the reader will be able to grasp.
· What food sources contain your nutrition topic?
· What are the recommended intakes for your nutrition topic?
· Are there any health related risks
enefits related to your topic?
· Include confounded statistic, facts and studies backed by reputable resources and/or studies. (Example: The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends… or According to the American Academy of Pediatrics...).
· Provide helpful resources to help the reader further their education. Such as websites, recipes, or a nutrition/health journal.
· KEEP IT SIMPLE. Do not overload the reader with too much information.Â
· Import graphics; create charts, etc. to make the handout more attractive and appealing for the reader.
· You may need to include a disclaimer statement such as; check with MD before making any dietary changes.
