1.Pay for performance can be defined as financial reward system which is used for 
employee’s payment with support of compensation strategy for measuring quality of work in 
United States of America. The P4P is used for reflecting the efficiency of medical staffs in 
terms of quality work.  This term is highly being used in health care sectors for paying 
according the performances of staffs by measuring it with the set standards. It is technique 
which is used for physicians to pay for meeting goals of target related medical services. The 
P4P could encourage EMR adoption decisions which will help in gaining popularity with 
such incentive method. EMR adoption will also help to get more patients by boosting up 
performances of the medical physicians.  This has increased the usage of computers as the 
number of patients who are being attended by physicians is directly proportional to the 
incentives method. The physicians will be rewarded more by seeing the ability of patients 
who can meet targets in an easy manner. The EMR adoption system is highly being supposed 
to increase the P4P technique being used for rewarding the employees(M. Mitka,   
 1995).  
2.The advantages and limitations of cost benefits analysis for IT adoption decisions have 
been explained in a detail manner.  
Advantages 
1. The usage of IT solutions will help health care hospitals in carrying out 
multiple operations in minimum span of time in an cost effective manner. 
2. It will also help to motivate the doctors and nurses by making them to produce 
quality output(D. I. Morse 1996).  
3. The cost of operations and clerical issues can be managed with EMR system 
where there is more work load. 
4. This will help the doctors and physicians to performance in superior manner

Limitations 
1. The patients who need specific attention cannot be understood by EMR as it is 
a system which does not have human understanding.
