Introduction
Care is basic requisite of every human being and individuals are entitled to receiving it i
espective of their life’s background, societal status, or economic condition. The case study of Mrs Smith is also no different from any other individual in terms of having the right to receive proper care services, despite the fact that she is in jail presently. I had been entrusted with the duty of interviewing a patient in jail about her health problems and cu
ent as well as past life status, about whom I came to know many things that, helped me to frame a proper care plan for her.
Under privacy policy, since I am not entitled to disclose the patient’s name, therefore, I am going to refer to her as Mrs Smith. She is in jail cu
ently, and I have come to know that she had been suffering from asthma since a very young age, when she was only a child, along with having anxiety cu
ently due to difficulty in
eathing. Therefore, giving priority to these two aforementioned issues, I am presenting her care plan and analysis in this assignment.
1. Case Presentation and Clinical Assessment Mrs Smith2087
The case of Mrs Smith was presented to me in jail, where I found her with shortness of
eath. The reporting nurse had assessed her and informed me that in her childhood, she used to be anxious due to
eathing problem, which I noticed in her at present as well. Her immunisation in childhood had been recorded to be updated, which is why this cannot be considered as a case of microbial infection. However, on analysing family history, I came to know that her mother also had asthma, along with being bipolar. Hence, as infe
ed by Adewuya and Adeyeye (2017), if parents have asthma, it can be genetically acquired by the children.
Besides, before being imprisoned, she was also on alcohol and tobacco use, while her physiotherapist did not openly gave information about her drug habits. Apart from all these, she was subjected to domestic violence and suffered from mental agony due to this. She was professionally a butcher and also did not travel overseas, due to being from Northern Te
itory in Australia. As stated by Fe
o et al. (2016), this being a subu
an area, does not give much scope for travelling or prospering professionally.
Apart from these, her lifestyle was mediocre and not extremely balanced, which is why as indicated by Shaw et al. (2015), a person with less physical activity might be more prone to anxiety and asthma, than the one, with active lifestyle. Along with these, as supported by Caminati et al. (2016), people suffering from domestic violence suffer more from these health issues as they do not have a peaceful environment to live in.
2. Pathophysiology in context of Asthma and Anxiety, its Diagnostics as well as Alternative Presentation
Asthma, a very common pulmonary disease, is caused by infection in the respiratory tubes that are su
ounded by respiratory smooth muscles. At the time of the infection the airway inflammation occurs that is stimulated by environmental triggers. The na
ow airway produce excessive mucus and thus it blocks the pathway. According to Aalbers, Vogelmeier and Kuna (2016), this asthma results from the immune response due to any kind of allergen and it is then presented by antigen presenting cells (APC) and thus it triggers the immune system. Interleukin 4 starts to release by mast cells after the interaction with those APCs. In normal cell, the APC are destroyed by the antibody though is case of asthma patient these cells are transformed into other immune cells TH2.
According to Sweeney et...
