Hot Spot Analysis using Heat Transfer Model in DMFC system
Objective:
The heat transfer model along with diffusional analysis are developed for the Direct
Methanol Fuel cell (DMFC) system, this title is selected as DMFC technology is in infant
stage as more optimized HMT model is anticipated from researchers across the globe for
making DMFC system an affordable equipment for general public use. The COMSOL
software is used in validating the model for hot spot analysis and the simulated model with
geometric analysis is represented in this study.
Model Analysis:
The DMFC system model comprised of seven regions namely cathode flow channel,
cathode diffusion layer, cathode electro catalyst, mem
ane, anode electro catalyst, anode
diffusion layer, anode flow channel. For this analysis two dimensional and three dimensional
models are used. The model equations used for the analysis are,
