REFLECTIVE ESSAY: ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY
Student id :
Name: mohammed faisal
 Definition
Academic integration, in my opinion, is an intellectual challenge faced by us during our academic classes to exhibit what I have learnt. From lectures, li
ary documents, textbooks, it can be assessed, synthesized, and reshaped to establish data, information, and concepts done by us. Influenced by Jackson and Everington (2017), academic Integrity is the scholarly activity in an honest, open, and responsible way. Students should maintain principals of academic integrity along with personal integrity, respect classmates, property and rights and create a learning environment for everyone, which can contribute to the success of the applied effort. Professional integrity revolves around day-to-day interaction with various business parties and showing ethical behaviour regarding the nature of the deal (Boon and Maxwell XXXXXXXXXXEthical conduct means the difference between acceptable and unacceptable conducts. Ethical practice in a professional field can be considered as an individual advantage and beneficial factor. Â
Significance
Academic and professional integrity can be extended beyond limits and can be applied in professional fields and it can be effective for maintaining clarity. Satisfaction of learning outcomes fulfils with creating something original and genuine. Gaining knowledge from the new journals and documents can help create original academic work thus doing original works is most challenging as well as most satisfying. As a part of student life, everyone needs to complete lots of assignment and thus creating assignment were helpful in developing a student’s learning and understanding of the topic and establishment of the understanding in an individual way. Assignment task differs from one another thus improving the problem-solving ability of a student. As stated by Swanson and Frederick (2016), completion of an assessment task shows how well I have understood the subject and usefulness of study lectures. Construction of an assignment needs collection of data from various sources thus gathering resources from various journals and documents, official reports, newspaper from the internet or discussion of the topic with another student can help a scholar enrich his assignment. Ethicality, Academic, and Professional Integrity are related to each other thus failure of academic integrity will result in unethical practices. Practices academic integrity can be reflected in professional life. If we try to imply academic integrity into the professional world, where the university can be assumed as a contractor and we are customers then it can be implied that transaction terms will be made upon them as they are a provider of resources and they can dictate terms of relationship. Payer’s satisfaction is the main concern thus it is up to them how the transaction terms will be made. Importance of acknowledging the ideas of educational resources and avoiding plagiarism can be useful in conducting proper academic integrity. Academic misconduct can gain sustainability and affect professional life an individual. Influenced by Chapman and Lindner (2016), academic misconduct can harm an individual’s professional career for cheating or plagiarism thus individual can be penalized. Professional integration need to be maintained in thesis papers and construction of research papers also. Several researchers discuss upon same topic and similarities can be seen in various sections of the paper, thus it becomes important for a researcher to mention proper sources and references for avoiding misconduct.
Application
Applying the terms of academic and professional integrity in the educational sector has helped me gain an understanding of establishing the
idge between academic practice and ethical practice. As stated by Zhao (2017), ethics is important for a learner thus maintaining ethics in education sector while preparing an assignment needs proper and authentic use of sources. I have understood the federal crime in education section as plagiarism is concerned and avoiding such mishaps in producing an academic assignment has produced understanding of future application of ethics. Professionalism of an individual is created upon the establishment of honest and transparent yet functional knowledge of a student. Understanding the true essence of academic ethics and integrity will develop further implication in student life and applying the skills in the industrial sector. The industrial sector is built upon the relationship of customer and employer behaviour. Transparency learned in academic integration can be useful in professional practice in p\building up professional integrity (Levinson, XXXXXXXXXXReferencing style of an individual is important for building upon acknowledgement for using an external source other than the knowledge gained from books and lectures. Thus, it can be utilised in future endeavours for maintaining the transparency. Referencing needs to be done while creating a scholarly article and this help teachers to easily evaluate and find out the sources of information. It can be considered as an educational tool as the information from company reports and other specific numerical data needs to be collected from online articles and reports, which will be used for further analysis. Gathering data from various articles can be supposed as a mean of company acknowledgement thus I have developed the need for an honest educational practice and maintain educational integrity.
Comparison
After attending the lectures and classes conducted in the class, I have gained important aspects of developing academic integrity within me and developed a sense of honesty, which will reflect through my academic and professional activity throughout the life. From the study, I
