Apart from this, it has been seen that some people have leadership qualities since the beginning, whereas others develop the leadership qualities with time.
It must be noted that leadership skills can developed with practice. In nursing practice, when nurses failed to show the leadership qualities, they often considered incapable for their jobs because nursing job demands leadership, as nurses have to deal with different patients, their families and guide them or communicate with them. Transformational Leadership Style
The transformational leadership style can be defined as the leadership style, in which leader tried to

Transforming leaders set the moral example and work towards the benefit of people who are dependent on the, whether they are team, organization, or community. As mentioned by Banks, McCauley, Gardner and Guler (2016), transforming leaders follow four principles as part of their leadership approach. These approaches include inspirational motivation, idealized influence, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration. In inspirational motivation, leaders help in promotion of the set vision of the followers, set the values and mission for them. Transformational leader motivates the employees as well as challenges them. They guide their followers whenever they are stuck and emphasize on commitment and teamwork.
In intellectual stimulation, leaders encourage fellow team members to become innovative and creative. Transformational leader never criticizes its follower in public.
As stated by Tepper et al. (2018), in idealized influence, transformational leader can influence followers by acting as a role model in a situation. Leaders using transformational style, earn the trust and respect through their course of actions. They earned the highest ethical position for their conduct. In individualized consideration, leader acts as a guide for followers and reward them for their efforts.
Transactional Leadership Style
The transactional leadership style can be defined as the style, in which leaders are given the main focus as leaders play the role of motivating group members to perform well in the situation or at their work based on the punishment and incentives given for the work. In this style, leader defines the set of rewards or punishment, which can be helpful in persuading the group of people to work well and performed exceptionally.
This leadership style includes three principles, which is organizing, short-term planning and controlling. As noted by Cho, Shin, Billing and Bhagat (2019), in organizing, leaders help in setting the plans of the team members and conduct the regular meetings, which resulted into discussion of the goals and objectives of each team member.
