Requirements for High Reliability
With the high demand of quality healthcare system there have been an enormous effort in improving quality of healthcare organizations with the adoption of highly reliable organization (HROs) the systems have been put in place that make healthcare professional extremely consistent in accomplishing their goals and avoiding potential errors. However, the inability to resolve quality issues may very well be related to the lack of adoption of high-reliability principles throughout this organizations. The scheduling and staffing processes have therefore been adopted and implemented by these organizations to improve and make the organizations highly reliable (Neudorf, 2012).
Sanford Medical hospital is one of the highly reliable health care organization within the Fargo North Dakota region that provides numerous services to the people of North Dakota. In this healthcare organization, these processes make the hospitals become more sensitive to operations. The staff always pays attention to the various operations and aim at minimizing any assumptions. This concentration enhances effective decision-making which is critical to an organization. secondly, these processes make Sanford medical hospital be resilient in offering services to the people of North Dakota.
These processes help institution identify her failure and work toward the improvement of the organization. Another important thing is that it helps encourage and motivate the employees on the various ways and mean their work processes might break down.
Therefore, with the help of the staffing processing it helps to minimized medical errors, which make my employer to be highly reliable medical hospital within the Fargo region (Christianson, Sutcliffe, Miller, & Iwashyna, XXXXXXXXXXFurthermore, the organization holds collaborations with the affiliated physicians and employees in the healthcare organization, and this ensures that the treatments are safe, effective and accurate. Such achievements as harm prevention and evidence-based care are seen within this healthcare organization.
Some areas I personally see that need improvement in this healthcare system is the is the salary structure. As we all know salary is one of the prime motivators for employees to give good result. With complex interactions that occur when serving the patients employees need to be happy in doing their work. There is the need to educate the patients more on the policies and procedures of this organization so there can be a coordinate relationship between the employee and the patient as to ensure an affective healthcare delivery.
Secondly, there is inadequate experience and insufficient training among the staff and employees of the healthcare system. This can also affect the healthcare service delivery, as some of them are not competent to handle complex operations. The healthcare system should aim at providing effective training to their staff to ensure that they are competent in providing effective healthcare services to their patients since there have been a shift from a volume base healthcare to a value base health care system.
