Assignment: Information for students
Scenario
You have been asked by ABC Education, a medium-sized private education college to investigate their existing copyright, privacy and ethics policies to ensure they are both compliant with relevant legislation and are also consistent with the aspirations of ABC Education to be an employer of choice and a destination of choice for students. The CEO has become concerned about this policies as she has recently found that there are only informal practices, rather than formal policies, in place in the organisation at present, and would like your advice on how formal privacy, ethics, and copyright policies could be implemented in ABC Education.
The CEO has also given you a list of organisational principles and practices that the ethics, privacy and copyright policies need to be consistent with. (See ABC Education – About Us in Learner Resources). You need to treat this document as a constraint and a guide as to what forms the final ethics, privacy, and copyright policies will take.
Instructions for students
Your task is to prepare a report for the CEO outlining to her what these policies need to address, and how the policies could be implemented. In particular, your report should address the following elements (at a minimum):
· What an organisational copyright policy needs to address, how it could be made consistent with organisational practices, and what legislation it needs to be compliant with (examples/specifics should be provided)
· What an organisational privacy policy needs to address, and what legislation it needs to be compliant with (examples/specifics should be provided)
· What an organisational ethics policy needs to address (examples/specifics should be provided)
· How the proposed copyright, ethics and copyright policies can be distributed to stakeholders, who those stakeholders might be, and how the feedback from stakeholders could be captured
· How privacy-related considerations such as information confidentiality, security, integrity and availability of information can be addressed by IT systems
· How any applicable proprietary rights of stakeholders will be maintained
· How any impact the new privacy, ethics and copyright policies will have on existing work practices will be determined
· What organisational processes could be put in place for various organisational stakeholders to support the policies e.g. to enable employees to report popicy violations, customers/students to report customer service that is inconsistent with company policies etc. You should also explain why these processes are necessary to support the policies e.g. meet reasonable expectations of stakeholders about organisational conduct, customer service etc
Resources
To help you write the report, you should consult the lecture materials as well as some of the other material in Learner Resources, such as sample copyright policies, ethics policies and privacy policies. There is also a report template to help you structure your report.

The main purpose of this document is to focus on how formal privacy, ethics, and copyright policies could be implemented in ABC Education. There is need of an organisational copyright policy, privacy policy, ethics policy. It could be made consistent with organisational practices and it needs to be compliant with legislation.
An organisational copyright policy needs to address that could be made consistent with organisational practices and it needs to be compliant with legislation as listed below:
a) No plagiarism is allowed: The plagiarism means using somebody else’s words, materials, manner of expression, or ideas in your own. This implies that even though another person agrees to allow you to gift his or her content as if it were yours, it's still plagiarism. Plagiarism doesn't need intent; it is intentional or unintentional. The simplest way to avoid plagiarism is to attribute ideas, facts, data, wordings, quotes, materials, observations, and the other material taken from other sources to their rightful progenitors as acceptable. This means, direct quotations will solely be employed in concert with author name, publication data, and page number(s), and therefore the quoted passage should be enveloped in quotation marks. APA-formatted citations, and references in a very separate reference section, should be wont to document sources and material.
) College put penalties for plagiarism: if there is plagiarism content then college put penalty for it.
c) Copyright and Fair use: Copyright law is arguably less simple; however violations of copyright aren't any less serious. Penalties for violating copyright might em
ace fines or different proceeding, in conjunction with University disciplinary action. It’s necessary to
owse and perceive laws refe
ing to proprietary materials and their “fair use” in instructional settings.
An organisational privacy policy needs to address that could be made consistent with organisational practices and it needs to be compliant...
