Assignment 1
In global context, long term care is a part of healthcare services provided to people, who suffer from chronic or incurable diseases and have a financial condition that is not enough for availing the healthcare on own expense. In USA, the long-term care is considered in a very limited context. While USA provides one of the best in class medical and non-medical healthcare services for its citizens, especially the elders, it falls short of its mark when it comes to providing long-term care in USA. As noted by Andfossen (2016), the USA healthcare agencies, provide long-term care for elderly people, based on the economic condition. Only poor people with chronic diseases and people, who have lost their monetary resource by availing care services for long period, are provided long-term care, while the remaining care users, despite having chronic diseases do not qualify for availing the facility.
In recent times, the use of telemedicine has becomes an innovative long-term care providing process. As observed by Rubin and Sataloff (2018), in case of telemedicine, the mobility of the healthcare instruments, and the reach of the care provider as well as the care users increases manifold as internet is used for video conference based tests and medications, saving time, money for long-term care providing. In case of telemedicine, the medical apparatuses are used with electronic devices, which makes their reach to the elderly persons or chronic care users more comfort of being checked and diagnosed with minimal movement, which most cases tend to be a very hectic action to conduct. The use of PARO theoretic robot is also another way of providing long-term care. As explained by Birks, Bodak, Barlas, Harwood and Pether (2016), the robots are given to the care users, who see it as ordinary soft toy, however, the robot generates sound and vi
ation as well as animal like simulation, which helps in recovering from long-term communication issues and reduced depression.
Assignment 2
Firstly, I will read the assignment details with utmost concentration to understand the proper approach of the assignment and also note the areas of information as well as regulations that needs to be considered until the completion of the assignment. In order to generate quality deliverables for the cu
ent assignment, I realized that searching the web and catering secondary sources of information and using the theoretical information for writing the answers would not be adequate. Therefore, I have proposed the use of the theoretical learning in alignment with real-life situations and organizational actions to evaluate and understand the true implication of the aspects discussed in the cu
ent assignment. Considering the opinion of Shipman, Stammers, Doyle and Gittoes (2016), a quality deliverable can never be prepared without the feedback of a third person. Providing feedbacks, I would keep my assignment in progress open for feedback collection, based on which I would be able to refine the areas of mistakes identified through feedbacks and would improve the areas that received poor feedbacks, which will eventually help in updating the quality the assignment, reaching and becoming a quality deliverable.
The information derived from the quality deliverables would make the well aware about the dynamics of long-term care services in USA, making me a capable staffs, playing my role properly in healthcare sector. The collected data would let me know about the needs of the long-term care users, the quality of care provided in the country and the legislation that has shaped the long-term care providing services. These would be giving me the ability to infer my role in the healthcare sector and even develop suggestions that would help make the long-term care services better. The knowledge of the loopholes in the system would also...
