What is HIPAA
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal law, which was being passed in the year 1996, by the Federal Law, with the fostered grounded intent of setting the national standard to safeguard medical records and other personal health information (Wiener, 2013).
Purpose of HIPAA
i. Aims to help consumers maintain their insurance coverage.
ii. Takes in separate set of provision termed as the administrative simplification.
iii. Targets to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare system.
iv. Cinches the continual of delivering health care services to the employees even during the job hours (Kwak & Polivka, 2014).
v. Prevention of fraud was another main aim of HIPAA.
