Introduction
A multidisciplinary team for healthcare plays an important role in providing a service model for care. This type of care is provided by the carers, including general practitioners, community health professional and other healthcare professionals. In a healthcare setting, under the multidisciplinary care facility, when the professionals provide a large range of care services, it highlights, they are capable of assisting the patient with their different range of services. The team works together so that the condition of the patient improves with the change in the psychological and clinical condition of the patient.
In this study, the important for the multidisciplinary healthcare team in the Rapid Assessment Planning Unit will be evaluated so that the best outcomes can be studied based on the literature review. The five articles that will be discussed in the study will be based on the qualitative and quantitative or mixed research studies highlighting its efficacy in providing the best healthcare to the patients.
A multidisciplinary role within healthcare provides a range of health care services with the aim of comprehensive healthcare services. In Australia, the multidisciplinary role played by the health professional constitutes of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, allied health professionals, social workers, Aboriginal health carer, practice nurses as well as community health nurses (Easpaig et al., 2019). For the optimum functioning of the multidisciplinary team, and to be able to provide the best possible care, factors, such as clinical governance, were followed.
Further, stringent following of the protocols and systems for interaction and communication between the teams and utilization of the best possible skills were also implemented. The nurses working in the multidisciplinary program plays a crucial role in the coordination between the team members. They help in facilitating accurate delivery of care within the multidisciplinary program. The role, which is played in a nurse in RAPU for the best possible outcome of the patient, includes the implementation of effective medical decision related to the care after being monitored closely by the medical professionals.
The nurses in the multidisciplinary team are adept in understanding the various symptoms as well as monitoring of the patient’s symptoms, which includes blood pressure and diabetes. In certain cases, it is essential for the nurse to cope with the emotional condition of the patients, including denial or fear. In this kind of functional role, it is important for the nurses to be aware of the processes including administration of the different kinds of medicines, doses of medication and even is able to understand the potential interaction in between different medications.
Significance
The literature review in the study will be highlighting the complexities in the treatment through multimodality aids by the multidisciplinary teams. The literature review helps in exploring the effectiveness of the multidisciplinary team so that the researcher can study the optimal strategies for treatment that are adopted by the medical professionals. Further, the literature review in the study highlights the extent the use of guidelines can help in reducing the treatment period as well as improve the outcome of the patients. This also ensures how in RAPU the medical professionals and the nurses take up roles as well as responsibilities in the treatment of patients.
The main purpose of the study is to understand the positive outcome in the patients under the treatment of multidisciplinary medical team in RAPU and even the function of nurses in this treatment process. Especially the study will emphasise the extent RAPU will transform a traditional evaluation process in to a parallel evaluation process, where the nurses and the medical professionals will be defined by their function. The objective of the study is to explore the effectiveness of the nurse's role in the multidisciplinary functionalities, especially RAPU departments for effective treatment of the patients.

The search engine, which has been utilized for selecting the articles for the literature are Google Scholar and PubMed. The search strategy adopted will include keywords like multidisciplinary team, multidisciplinary function in rapid assessment, nurse’s role in rapid assessment in emergency department and outcome of the patients in RAPU. Once the articles were selected, they were shortlisted based on certain inclusion criteria. These inclusion criteria include the language of the article has to be in English and the article needs to be within the last five years.
Further, the articles should be ca
ying out qualitative and quantitative or mixed analysis. The exclusion criteria include the elimination of the i
elevant articles that are not qualitative, using appropriate database and Boolean operators. While creating the PRISMA chart, there were certain exclusion factors that were applied during the selection of the articles. The articles should be within five years of publication, peer-reviewed, published in English, ca
ied out mixed methods, including both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the collected data.

Critical Appraisal
Article 1
According to the article Easpaig et al. (2019), there is a congruency, which has been observed in between the objective of the study and the method of planning of the study. The main aim of the study was to understand the effectiveness of the decision making process by the members of the multidisciplinary care team (MDC) in providing effective treatment to the patient. It can be understood that the engagement between the clinical professionals, nurses and the patients in supporting the medical needs of the patients plays a crucial role within the emergency department.
Further, it can be emphasized that understanding the ba
iers as well as facilitators in the multidisciplinary team involved in the treatment process within RAPU is crucial. The study created a methodology, which is divided into two stages...
