Assignment 3 – Peer evaluation and reflective journal on capstone project experience and professional exposure - Individual report – Due week 12
Report should include the following components:
A minimum of 1000 words report outlining your professional development during the professional exposure.
Report should follow the sequence listed below.
1) The first part is a Title page, your name, school and student number.
2) The Second part is technical skills developed during your Professional Exposure.
3) The third part is a summary of professional skills developed during your Professional industry Exposure.
4) The fourth part is referencing in IEEE Transactions in Networking referencing style.
5) The fifth part is the signed ‘completion of professional exposure/exposure certificate’ and/o
evidences of attendance in professional events.
Details of Report
The report should be 1000 words long, include figures, tables and references and any appendices originating from the actual report on industry. Note the appendices mentioned here are different from the weekly diary of activities. The report should have the following sections:
1. Title page, your name, school and student number (1 Mark)
2. Technical Skills Developed During Professional Industry Exposure. Write technical reflective journal incorporating the following points: (2 Marks)
2.1 Did you have prior knowledge to understand the professional industry expectation? Map all units that was useful during your professional industry exposure and how well did you apply your prior knowledge and skills. Where can you use this exposure in the future? (1 Mark)
2.2 What are the new technical skills or knowledge you gained from your industry exposure? (1 Marks)
3. Professional Skills Developed During Professional Exposure. Map your outcome to ACS CBOK

3.1 Identify the specific skills that your specific practical exposure best matches to and state why that is so. 2 Marks
i) Include a relevant example from your practical industry exposure to demonstrate how you developed those skills identified.

3.2 As you look to the future as a networking graduate, use your professional industry exposure to address the following questions: 1 Mark
i) Based on your professional exposure what changes would you recommend in the way and manner you approach your study? Explain with relevant details.
ii) What changes would you recommend to those who structure your degree program to to ensure you become a successful networking professional in the future?
3.3 Your plans for your future as a networking graduate. 1 Mark

ii)    Are there specific networking challenges that you are more interested in for the future?

iii) Have your ideas about your future career direction emerged during the practical industry exposure?

You should reference all the materials you have used in preparing this report. Ensure that your report follows the IEEE Transactions in Networking referencing format.

Technical Skills
The technical skill that I developed during my industry exposure is to manage network server by assisting with network, server and domain design. It involved ensuring feasible network speed and testing of network performance and speed. It was an enriching experience to work with computers and their interconnectivity.
2.1. A general knowledge of installation of sever and supporting the network was gained through theoretical exposure in class which was helpful to some extent while practically installing a server at my workplace and trouble shooting minor challenges.
Mapping the knowledge with Industry exposure:
    Prior Knowledge
    Professional Industry Exposure
    Server Installation: The server installation requires certain information like language, time-zone, keyboard type, product key, OS type, license agreement, install type and disk location. It was known that network setup wizard would prompt for accomplishing this first phase.
    Installation of Windows through Windows setup was done by copying compressed files, expanding those files, installing Windows features and updates and finally completing the installation.
    Configuring unique credentials to the new server helps the network to connect to the server with those configurations rather than default configurations.
    Server was configured after installing Windows Server using the Initial Configuration Tasks Wizard. The Wizard guided through the mandatory initial tasks for server configuration.

*Automatic update was enabled to let the OS update automatically
* Roles and features could be added through Add Roles Wizard but were left to default.
