Your position statement should address the organisation's target audience

There are two parts to this assessment

Part 1
Prepare a Cultural Safety position statement for an organisation that you work with or are familiar, with that outlines the importance of providing effective health communication and health literacy as part of your organisation’s overallstrategy to deliver Culturally Safe health. (approx. 500 words)

*Important: You must choose an actual health related organisation. It can be one that you work for, or have worked for or it can be an organisation that you are interested in or admire

For the purposes of this assessment the term position statement is defined as


a range of evidenced-based statements to communicate an organisation’s position on key issues of relevance to achieving a healthy Australia, supported by the best possible health system.

Part 2
A written document outlining the rationale underpinning yourposition statement (approx. 1000 words) . This should include the following:

· Why having such a statement important for providing a Culturally Safe health environment

· The importance of effective communication in the provision of Culturally Safe environment.

· Explain the relationship between health literacy and effective communication

· The external influences (for example historical and contemporary, factors like the media) that may contribute or detract from Culturally Safe practice in the health environment.

· How might this contribute to improving the health outcomes of the organisation's target clients

· What are the barriers, to implementing this position statement, that might exist within the organisation?

Introduction
‘Caring for people with complex needs of all ages’ is the position statement proposed by Nulsen group and this would be chosen healthcare organisation for this assignment. Nulsen group is a care-providing organisation for people with complex needs i
espective of their age groups. Three separate service streams including, Nulsen Therapy, Nulsen Outcare and Nulsen Disability services are provided by this organisation. The organisation aims to provide outstanding services to its clients guided by their values of being collaborative, courageous, accountable and adaptive. Accommodation services are also provided by this organisation under therapy services, Nulsen disability services and reintegration services involved in Nulsen Outcare.
Our Position
The Nulsen group promotes cultural safety for every employee and individuals that seeks care with complex needs for all ages.
Nulsen Group Beliefs
Every person contributes towards cultural safety and richness; therefore, i
espective of their cultural backgrounds, Nulsen group believes that they have the right to receive care, which would be free from racism and discrimination. In every stream of service provided by Nulsen group, employees have an obligation to maintain the value and respect towards every individual’s culture and the care delivery principles.
Likewise, Nulsen group works to nurture every individual’s potential towards good life. Providing care services to people with complex needs is the only motto and moral compass for the Nulsen group followed by the values of being collaborative and adaptive towards every culture. Nulsen endorses National Disability Services (NDS) agency’s ‘Zero Tolerance initiative’ and any form of abuse, neglect, discrimination, recognition, racism and deviation from human rights is not tolerated (Nulsen group, 2020).

Nulsen group accepts cultural awareness and cultural sensitivity and this is evident from all the Outcare programs established to provide support and care. ‘Thrive’ is the support program empowering and acknowledging housing issues faced by native communities. Services are delivered in Southwest, Great Southern, and South Metropolitan, North Metropolitan and South East Metropolitan regions of Western Australia.
The only focus of this program is to support the native communities and empower them to tackle life issues. Likewise, ‘time to work’ is another employment program for the native communities, which also includes training and support for the candidates. Bunuru (youth services) is a 10-week skill development program for young offenders (15-18 years), i
espective of their culture or ethnicity, employment and training support is provided to them (Nulsen group, 2020).
