Introduction
Transition phase of a student from high school to university or college is very difficult and often creates confusion for many students. The initial images of the college lifestyle flashes through the student’s mind, because they will be able to experience freedom, enjoy college parties, meet with new people, attend sporting events and many more activities. However, they will also experience the load of academics, social engagement, work behaviours, ba
iers, motivators and attitudes. In this research proposal the discussion is done on the probable impact over the students because of the change in the lifestyle from high school to college.
Background of Research
There is a massive transition from the high school towards college/ university because of the change in pattern of study, the environment, and the increase in stress. Ramachandiran & Dhanapal (2018) have discussed that the stress is defined as a state of mental tension or wo

Students face stress because of a sudden increase in the workload from academics, along with many more extra social and college related activities, which they were not familiar previously. This kind of stress impacts the health of the students, along with their physical activity and it also effects their motivation. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the ways through which the stress related to the transition phase among the students is minimized.
Research Rationale
The necessity to conduct this research is to identify possible solutions to help the students in overcoming the transition phase from high school to college/ university.
Literature Review
There are mainly three major determinants regarding an individual’s choice regarding remining healthy or developing illness, which occurs because of the genetics, lifestyle and chance. However, as discussed by Dvorakova et al. (2019) that the life of a student is filled with new and exciting experiences and there is often a lot of things go on. There will be occasions when a lot of pressure will come academically, as well as from the societal front. Similarly, the stress can also be experienced through financial aspects, because with the change in lifestyle in the college, the expenses also increase, which puts pressure financially.
Lifestyle of university also affects the physical health of the students because of lack of adequate amount of sleep, not being able to eat nutritious foods and that too maintaining a routine, and lack of regular exercise, which puts immense stress on the physical health. Getting affected in the physical health can have adverse effect over the mental health also, and that directly affects the motivation and concentration level of the students, which further contributes to poor academic performance.
In the university lifestyle, there is also the use of alcohol and drugs, which are basically consumed during any social events or fests. Anbumalar et al. (2017) have discussed that the use of alcohol and drugs puts a negative impact over the students health, such as alcohol can worsen the...
