Video Presentation (10%): Due in Week 7
You are required to complete a 5-minute video, highlighting the research you have conducted on your interest in reporting on that chosen population group and principle:
· Give an introduction/opening statement to introduce the main points that you will discuss in the video
· Provide core statistics about the population group (youth, LGTBI, Indigenous Australians, women, people with disabilities, asylum seekers)
· Provide a definition and examples of the community services theoretical principle (advocacy, human rights, empowerment, social justice, social exclusion).
· Provide core statistics and/or events and/or examples as evidence to prove your argument (based on the statement)
· Give a closing argument to convince the viewer that the data you have presented provides the evidence to prove that the statement is co
ect.
Written ESSAY (25%): Due Week 9
Word count: Write a XXXXXXXXXXESSAY with the following information:
· Introduce the thesis statement
· Define and explain the theoretical principle, and how it relates to the population group
· Explain important historical events, legislation, and changes in social policies relevant to the statement, and discuss how these have impacted the situation (as per the ‘statement’).
· Discuss significant advocacy campaigns and social and political activism initiatives that have occu
ed over the past 50 years to address the issue in the selected statement.
· Give examples of the main community sector agencies which seek to address the issues. Analyse the extent to which the needs have been addressed and analyse the areas for improvement
· Discuss the cu
ent and future implications of the situation
