Summary
The main goal of the Stephanie Alexander project is to improve the health of primary school children and to teach them how to grow their own plants. This has been successful at a primary school level, but would need to be done for children above primary school as it is important for them as well. The total budget would be for $2,380,000 approximately and most of the funding would be covered by the government. The timeline and objectives of the project have been provided so as to make it convenient for perusal. The main objective is to get children to live sustainably.

Background
Stephanie Alexander Garden Project is aimed at helping teachers develop positive food and eating habits to Australian children. It is a not-for profit organization that helps children in primary schools to grow, harvest, prepare or cook and share food that is fresh and seasonal and organic (Block, et al, 2012). The program’s aim is to make sure that students have a pleasurable experience with food. This will help them develop their attitudes with the food that see around them, the environment and with the concept of sharing. It also looks at developing healthy relationships of cooperation between adults and children and teaches them the idea of sustainability from early on. The primary target group of the project are students who are of primary school age. This inevitably alienizes everyone who is not of that particular age group. Thus, the target would be to
ing this project to students of every age group and thus, help students of every age group grow and prepare food. The idea would be to increase the difficulty level as the students grow older, thus allowing them to have a deep knowledge of the food.
Needs Assessment Description
In this picture, it can be clearly seen that the children are working on a garden. The reality could be that the students are working in a small patch of land in their schools. The children would be able to learn to grow their own food and live sustainably, as food is related to everyone’s lives (Gi
s, et al, 2013). The problem with the picture, however, is that students look too young to be in a garden. This can be solved by having bigger children, not just those of primary school, involved in the project.
The picture is that of a school garden. The picture would have been taken during the main months of the project. When the students were doing the main planting. The garden is a part of the school and relates to the lives of the people in the sense that it provides children food during the main season. The main problem is that the garden looks sparse. This can be solved by involving more children, especially those who are older, in the gardening activity as well, so it can helpful in regaining the garden’s main identity, and have a lush and colourful garden that is beneficial to everyone.
Aim
The primary aim of the project is to get children of all ages, the knowledge of growing their own food and to have a garden in every school in the district. This would teach them the importance of caring for the environment, sustainability, cooperation and care for nature. It would also teach them the importance of food and where it comes from (Harvey, et al, 2006).
The secondary aim is to get students to have their own gardens in their homes that they can nurture themselves so that they can have the benefits of gardening in their homes.
Objectives
The objective would be to get all the students who are physically and mentally capable in schools in Australia to help in gardens. Every schools should be able to achieve self-sustainability in terms of the vegetables that are grown and consumed within the school.
Methodology
Photovoice involves individuals taking their own pictures of the community garden to document and reflect on issues that are significant to them. This would be especially important in this case, as the proof would be in the pictures of the garden (Block, et al, 2009). The before and after pictures of the garden would be a qualitative research as it would show the difference in the work that is being done by the individuals as well.
The socio-ecological health model would be the best health model in order to explain the importance of this project. According to this model, in order to understand human behaviour and interaction, the entire ecological system around them needs to be understood and studied as well. This is important as by conducting this project, the entire ecological system around the school, where most students spend half their days at, could be changed. This is important as it...
