Project Title: The title of this project is “Community Centre for Mental Health”.
Who will benefit?
The project will help in improving the mental health of the Indigenous community. This project will benefit all the people who had suffered from either mental illness or mental disorder in some point of life. It also provides the chance for everyone who is cu
ently suffering from mental disorder or issue but failed to address it due stigma related to mental illness. Around 20.1% of Australian had suffered from mental health issues between 2017 and 2018. This has raised around 2.6% from 2014 and 2015 (The Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2019). There are many kinds of mental issues like depression and anxiety, which people felt but failed to address.
This project will address the issues of the people who developed the suicidal tendencies in them. As mentioned by Aue
ach, Millner, Stewart and Esposito (2015), prolong mental illness such as depression when left untreated resulted in development of suicidal tendencies. The time when the suicidal tendencies have been diagnosed but it has been too late, people have already been attempted the suicide, either get successful or failed to take the second attempt. Thus, this community centre is specifically design to help and support every individual suffering from any form of mental illness and fear to come forward.
How will this funding be spent?
This funding will be spent in hiring the counsellors, psychotherapist to provide the counselling and psychotherapy to the people suffering from the mental health issues. This funding will be used to hire clinical psychiatrist and nurse to handle the patients suffering from the intense mental issues or having suicidal tendencies. The main money will be spent in building of the community centre and advertisement of the promotion centre. This community centre since only focus on mental health, there will be conduction of seminars by doctors and nurses to increase the awareness in the people related to the health.
There will be conduction of the various community-based interventions to reduce the stigma related to the mental health. Funding will be spent in buying the clinical equipment necessary for diagnostic and treatment of the people suffering from the mental issues. Apart from that, fund will be spent on conduction of the activities in the region. The main target is establishment of the community centre in the Indigenous community to improve their mental health, it is important to notice that Indigenous population of the Australia lives mostly in the secluded areas where there is lack of basic resources to improve health, funding will be spent on it (The Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2016).
How will the project be delivered?
Project will be delivered in the form of the working and established community centre in the Indigenous community. Since, there is need of the building of the project; the design build approach will be used for the construction of the community centre. As mentioned by Sullivan, Asmar, Chalhoub and Obeid (2017), design build method is a method of project delivery in which one entity will be given the responsibility of the design-build team. For the selection of contractor, bidding will be done. The thorough review of the rate quotation made by the contractor, along with the reviews about their work will be taken into consideration while selection of the contractor.
Since the method is design-build, the selected contractor will be the project owner for building the community centre in given space and reasonable price. The land for the community centre is a donation made by the trustees of the organisation, but successful running of the project-required support from the government. The selection of the design-build contract method is done with the aim to provide the unified flow of work from the starting of the project until its completion. This method will avoid any unnecessary complication, as there will be single-source responsibility. Since the contractor will

As noted by Hardin (2019), it has been seen that design-build approach have many benefits over other approaches for building of project such as collaborative project management to avoid problems, cost savings due to single efficient and innovative team, one complete entity can be held responsible, focus can be made on project instead of managing multiple entities and reduction in litigation claims. Once the community centre will be in progression, there will be hiring of the maintenance organisation, which can be held responsible for cleaning and regular maintenance of the community centre. There will be conduction of meetings to hire the counsellor, psychiatrist, cultural expert, dietician, psychotherapists. The preference will be given to the renowned specialist, who can visit once or twice, to meet with patients. There will be hiring of yoga instructor, nurse and general physician who can deal with emergency. The advertisement will be given in the classifieds for the hiring of the people.
Once the community centre is prepared, marketing will be done. The advertisement and promotion of the community centre will be done using various mode. As noted by Asghar, A
asi and Zafarullah (2015), advertisement is designed to affect cognitive behaviour of the consumer, advertisement must be designed to engage the people and draw their attention towards the product. The advertisement will be made using flyers at the hospitals and shopping areas. To target Indigenous population, door-to-door promotion of the community centre will be done so that people can understand the need and importance of the community centre. As per the plan, there will be operative community centre with in eight months.
How many people will directly benefit?
Although, Indigenous community is target of this community centre, yet there are no restrictions or limitation in taking care of people suffering from the mental issues in silence. This project will help directly to the life of more than 2000 people. It will have capacity to deal with more than 200 people at once in all the activities conducted. It is interesting to note that organisation who is dealing with the project has 19 years of experience working in this field in all over Australia. More than 300 indigenous people will be directly getting advantage from this community centre.
