Translating Research into Practice (TRIP)
The purpose of this assignment is to introduce students to finding, using and sharing a research based article. This research based article is based on health promotion of a pre-selected topic such as stroke prevention. The student will translate the information learned in the article to a concise overview on 1 page flye
poster. The student will then present the information to their peers. This assignment will be graded based on a scoring ru
ic available in blackboard.
Directions for the TRIP flyer:
1. Read the article from Nursing Management provided in blackboard. Article: “Research to practice: Don’t get lost in translation” by Block and LeGrazzie.
2. Sign up for a topic to research. Topic must be approved by the instructor.
3. Search for a research article using the li
ary data bases. A research article will contain introduction, abstract, methods, results, and conclusions. The article should be specific to your topic. If you are unsure if you have a research article, please ask me to review it.
4. Read the article you have selected.
5. Create a 1 page flye
poster with a concise overview of the information learned and describe the application to nursing practice. How will you use this information in practice?
6. Present information to your class. The student will have 3 minutes to present via computer or copy for everyone.
7. Turn in a copy of the article and the flyer via blackboard before class.
