The Issue of Afterlife 
The concept of afterlife is one thing that can be considered common in terms of finding 
unity in the views of world religions. Though there are differences between world religions in 
respect of interpreting the concept of afterlife and even though some world religions do not even 
believe in the afterlife; the fact that every world religion has given importance to the issue of 
afterlife is very much evident in all the similarities and differences.  
It is now not a surprise to learn that “The ancient Egyptians’ attitude towards death was 
influenced by their belief in immortality. They regarded death as temporary interruption, rather 
than the cessation of life” (Canadian Museum of History, 2017). Buddhism believes in the cycle 
of birth and rebirth and it believes that ultimate liberty from such a cycle is only possible through
