What do you believe will be the challenges of U.S. health care in the next ten years?
For our country's Academic Health Centers, disaster has been forecasted nonstop throughout the past ten years (AHCs). The most significant challenge to AHCs may be the decline in the perceived quality of patient care their hospitals and doctors provide. The payment difference between AHCs and community hospitals and physicians has essentially vanished. A 30% cut in direct physician compensation in many AHCs over the past five years has been the most noticeable effect (Elbel & Knickman,2019). When serious medical issues arise, the medical care system frequently assumes responsibility for the patient's care, even if it is not feasible to fully restore their health. Instead, the objective may be to assist the patient in managing the pain and suffering they experience and any loss of function.
According to the World Health Organization, 32 million deaths worldwide from NCDs—more than three-quarters of all fatalities worldwide—occur in low- and middle-income nations. Millions more people with disabilities. Although these illnesses are frequently linked to older age groups, data indicates that 15 million of all fatalities linked to NCDs happen in those between the ages of 30 and 69. Over 85% of these "premature" deaths are thought to take place in low- and middle-income nations.
