INSTRUCTIONS
This written assignment involves summarizing and critiquing a recent journal article on one of the
topics covered in class. More specifically:
1. You will select one of the articles in the list attached, search for it, and download it from the
Douglas College li
ary. If you log in to your DC account, you do not have to pay for these articles
If you do not summarize an article from the list you will not receive marks for the ‘Summary’ and
‘Critique’ portion of the assignment
2. You will read the article (likely several times) and submit a two-page written summary (~1/2
page) and critique (~1.5 pages) of the article. 4 pages altogether (1st page is your title page and
the 4th page is your reference page).
3. PLEASE DO NOT PLAGIARIZE! Written assignments will be checked for plagiarism and
penalties will occur (see course outline for academic integrity policy links). You must cite you
article in the written portion and include a reference page with the full reference at a
minimum.

“Late assignments will receive a deduction of -1% per day (maximum deduction of 14% or 2
weeks late). Submissions received after 9:30am on Oct. 11th will receive late penalties. Only
submissions uploaded here will be accepted. Submissions will not be accepted after Dec. 6th,
