Healthcare facility in Oklahoma - Newcastle
Introduction
The non-profit organization which will be developed will be ‘The Oklahoma Destitute Center.” This organization will be a full non-profit organization and will be located in the Oklahoma, United States. This healthcare center will focus on providing shelter to the orphans and the poor destitute who have lost their parents and are abandoned on the road. The state of Oklahoma has the second highest rate of uninsured rate in the country. There are atleast 1 out of 7 people in Oklahoma who are uninsured which is a big problem for the state (Daniel Huff, 2019).
The ultimate objective of Oklahoma Destitute Center will be to plan for short term medical insurances for all the destitute who will be a part of this center. Later, there is expansion plan of this organization throughout United States by setting up more destitute center for the care and upliftment of the orphans and poor.
Location of the community
The location of the Oklahoma Destitute Center will be in the community of Newcastle. The community of Newcastle has number of corporate organizations like Newcastle Casino, Newcastle Softball Complex etc. which can provide financial support to the center. This is a place where the number of non-profit healthcare center is less and it will be Oklahoma Destitute Center which will bank on this opportunity to set-up their center for the benefit of the poor.
Community it will serve
While providing services to the Oklahoma’s Newcastle Community it will try to improve the poor healthcare services offered in the state. As per the latest report of Tusa World, Oklahoma’s healthcare system is ranked 50th among 50 states in 2019. It was ranked 49th in 2018. The reason for such poor healthcare services in the state of Oklahoma is generally due to underinsurance. It’s the rising costs of medical insurance premiums mainly with respect to the prescription drugs and the outpatient services. This is happening due to the poor and unplanned application of the healthcare system in the state of Oklahoma (Ryan Bisher Ryan & Simons, 2019).
Service that it will offer the community
Approximately 11% of the people in the state of Oklahoma are living in a high poverty zone and around 8% of the teenagers are either not studying in school or not working. In terms of education, Oklahoma stands 45th in terms of education, 43rd in terms of health outcomes. Further, the number of suicides, drugs and alcohol cases in the state of Oklahoma has risen over a period of 12 years (Ryan Bisher Ryan & Simons, 2019).
