The program focuses on three main risk factors: nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco use. The community you are working with is low-income, low-education, multicultural, and the aforementioned risk factors are prevalent throughout.

This discussion has two parts:

  • Pick one CVD risk factor and describe your first step to engage the community in your program.
  • Identify and discuss at least 2 different methods to reach an intended audience. Provide examples of the method in use.

Give at least 3 references. Must be completed in APA format. Double Space, Times New Roman, 12 font.

Module 2 Discussion
One of the most significant causes of CVD is smoking tobacco. Tobacco smoking has
myriads of negative consequences, and in the development of cardiovascular diseases tobacco
use plays a vital role. It is not only carcinogenic but also harmful for almost every organ in
the human body. As a public health worker it is my duty to make the community members
aware of the ill-effects of tobacco smoking and how to refrain from getting trapped by such

have to work is constituted of majority of blacks and quite pathetically they are more prone to
tobacco usage. This is also because the random advertisement for tobacco use makes the
lack youths in the concerned community more allured to smoking tobacco (Truth, n.d.). It is
a fact that “Low-income neighborhoods are more likely to have tobacco retailers near schools
than other neighborhoods” (Truth, n.d.). This fact also adds to the problem of CVD
developing among black youths and adults....
