ABSTRACT
Energy optimization is an important concern whole benefits can be seen in the form of reduction of the energy bills as well can be seen in the form of the green house gas emissions reduction. In this connection, Honkong Museum building energy optimization is selected as the core problem for research study in the cu
ent report. Museum building energy optimization need to be performed slightly different from other regular buildings, this is due to the fact that the building internal artefacts and other historical significant components integrity is expected to be retained with all the possible means of climate control and other related measures. A range of energy optimization measures are proposed in the report. A particular focus is provided to the centralized HVAC system in the organization. The discussion also provided an insight to the qualitative and quantitative methodologies employed in finalizing the energy optimization strategies. A basic overview of the proposed design to improve the HVAC system is also proposed in the solution.

1.0 Introduction:
Energy optimization is the central theme of the cu
ent dissertation. HK Museum as of now is completely dependendant on the traditional energy resources for all its energy requirements. Infact the organization do have sufficient energy usage and there is great need for the organization to plan its energy requirements in accordance with the energy optimization strategies. Once all the energy utilization and energy saving methods are optimized it will be possible for the organization to develop methods and means for the sake of energy saving. Some of the key energy utilization modes in the museum as of now are the lighting systems, ventilation fans, room heaters, refrigeration and air cooling systems. Collectively all these energy utilization systems are contributing to the energy utility in the work place and any initiative to prevent energy wastage in any of these units will contribute to the energy saving. The following part of the discussion is about the way of saving the energy in subsequent procedures to optimize the energy utility in these premises.
1.1Problem Specification:
HK museum is of historical significance and there are number of significant artefacts presently in use in the museum. The building employed for the museum is too big and it is consuming lot of energy on day to day basis. In this connection the cu
ent research based analysis work is undertaken with focus on specific problem of saving the energy being consumed in the organization. Apart from energy efficiency consideration there is also considerable focus on safeguarding the interiors and the artefacts of the museum buildings. The following part of the report focuses on the literature review related to the solution of the problem as well will also provide discussion on the modes and methods of energy optimization with critical insight to the applicability of the same to the cu

1.2 What constitutes Energy optimization?

2.0 Literature review:
Museum building being energy intensive consumption is generally targeted with range of energy optimization processes. There is need for extensive usage of the energy optimization procedures in museum buildings. There are several procedures by which the energy utilization in the museum buildings can be prevented. Energy efficiency improvement in the consuming centres is one popular methodology being used for the sake of performance improvement in buildings. At the same time developing microclimatic conditions in the buildings is another important procedure being employed in museum building to improve the energy consumption efficiency. Energy consumption prevention can be done in two ways. The first of the two is to improve the design of the existing devices used in the energy application areas and the second technique is the usage of the proposed tools and methods to improve the energy efficiency measures in the buildings. The key focus areas for energy utilization related energy efficiency improvement can be in the lighting applications, in the heating and cooling applications and finally in a range of electrical devices used in the organizations. The procedures employed in the industry will be analyzed on two perspectives, the first is by calculating the prevention and reduction in the CO2 emissions from the direct and indirect energy usage and the second measure of efficiency is the direct reduction in the net energy usage for the energy application in the premises (Zannis, 2006). HVAC systems are one of the major energy consuming units in any museum in general. Particularly in tropical and hot regions the load on cooling systems will be quite high and they make up major quantity of the total energy consumption of the building.
