A battery room has the following dimensions (2.9x2.5x6.24=45.24m^3 {1597.636ft^3}). The battery room, has a extract fan of 200 CFM, that requires 7.5 air changes per hour based upon the dimensions of the room. Calculate and model the Newtons law of cooling with the following parameters ambient temperature during the day of 50 deg c for approx 5 hours from 11am to 1600. The ambient temperature during the night is 32 deg c. Model the battery room with room temperatures of 20, 30 and 40 deg c. Clarify the loss of cooling within the battery room with the fan running 24/7.

Solution:
This project is about the cooling system design of battery room so before solving the question
first we look at the design consideration of the battery room.
Design consideration of battery room:
1. The ventilation of battery rooms should be ca
ied out with prevailing standards. The
design and installation of cooling systems must focus on application of systems that
equire little energy to produce cooling. Compressor based systems are recommended
for larger installations which will also facilitate free cooling during winter.
2. Battery rooms must be equipped with suction systems for explosive gases like hydrogen
and oxygen. Air removed by suction unit must be discharged to the atmosphere.
Batteries which release gases during charging must be located in a separate room.
3. Battery rooms should be pressurized in order to prevent dust and dirt.
4. Ideal battery room temperature is 20°C. The lifetime of a battery is halved for each 10°C
increase in temperature (based on reference temperature of 20°C). The normal life span
of batteries is 10-15 years at 20°C.
5. Design of battery room should have an exhaust fan and 80% exhaust air should be
ecirculated through ducts as an input, while the 20% of exhaust air should be drawn
out from the room.
6. Battery emits...
