The report discusses the impact of lifestyle of people on the level of obesity and chronic diseases 
in the people in the country. It followed up by the recommendations that may help the 
government in having a cost-effective system of health care management and convince people to 
have a better lifestyle that helps them in preventing such critical diseases. 
As per the statistics, two-third of the adults in United States of America is affected by the health 
problems which majorly include obesity and overweight. The adverse conditions that are related 
with and be caused by obesity are hypertension, heart diseases and diabetes-type2. In such a 
scenario it is very important for the health care practitioners to interfere in the health conditions 
of the people and their initial task is to introduce an appropriate weight management plan or 
therapy that will address multiple health conditions (Bantle, Wylie, Wheeler, Albright, Apovian, 
and Clark, 2008). 
 A very important point to be noted that lifestyle plays a major role in management of 
health care in an individual’s life. People do not agree with the fact that lifestyle is 
directly related to the eating patterns, types and level of physical activities and weight 
management.  
Governments have taken initiatives by promoting policies for the promotion of healthy lifestyle 
in order to restrict the rising trends of obesity and the diseases associated with it. OECD and 
WHO jointly undertook an economic analysis for strengthening the evidences that already exists 
in the system, in order to intervene and tackle the sedentary lifestyles of people and unhealthy 
diet plans. WHO’s, CHOICE approach that is choosing interventions that are Cost-effective, was 
the base for this economic analysis, which aimed at optimizing the policies that are tackling the 
unhealthy lifestyles of the people and the diseases related to it. On the contrary, if the current 
strategies are compared to the traditional framework of CHOICE, it results that distributional 
impact of cost effective and health outcomes.
